Introducing Summer 23 ‘Azulejo’: an ode to the artisans and eternal beauty of the mediterranean.
The first installment of Azulejo begins with silhouettes effortlessly mimicking the contrast of rustic cottages in Porto to the clean modular lines of the villas through the Algarve region. Laid-back, lightweight cotton and linen offer an elevated approach to essential day dressing where heritage ceramic colours are thoughtfully juxtaposed with vivid flora brights in roma red and warm azalea pink – the two haloing hues in the first chapter.
Playful tilework inspires the designs with hand drawn geometric prints and patterns are set in contrast with patchworked broderie in airy shapes, ruffles and ruching. Oversized, undone cotton and textured shirting and crop tops are paired back with matching waisted shorts, skirts and trousers. In essence of mood, striking handloom styles bring a touch of lighthearted comfort.
Bold sanguine two-tone florals breathe a fresh perspective into draped bias-cut silhouettes and strapless sarong style dressing. Dresses and crops are treated with cut-outs, twists, knots and scarf ties for an elegantly undone aesthetic. Tailoring is cool, made for ease and sophistication with panelled bralettes, blazers and trousers rendered in conscious, tactile fabrications.
