This season we travelled along the coastline of Mallorca, a trinity of sea, sun and slow pace, to capture the essence of ‘Camino Del Sol’, Spanish in origin, meaning path of the sun. Fuelled by the search of a return to nature and a voyage of discovery we immersed ourselves in the islands magnetic energy, accompanied by our team, we ate, swam, worked and played through the Balearic. With the launch of Camino Del Sol, we invite you to discover our travel guide to Mallorca, Spain.

We arrived on a sunny Saturday morning during the Fall season, which felt as though it was still the peak of a European summer, after misplaced luggage and our team were reunited, we hired a car to make our way to our hotel. A tip from us, hiring a car to travel around the island makes travel seamless, the island is vast with destinations varying a 40 minute-one hour drive from each other.

We spent day 1 of shooting at Casa Balandra, an art residency and guest house located in Pòrtol. We were hosted by Claudia del Olma, who is the co-founder and on-site manager of the space. Previously their family home, Claudia & Isabella del Olmo reimagined where they grew up to become a space celebrating multiculturalism, creativity and relationships. The corners of the house were designed in collaboration with Cécile Denis and became host to like-minded people coming together, to connect and inspire each other. We were drawn to the story of its inception, the narrative of togetherness and immersing ourselves in creativity. Upon discovering it back in Sydney, we felt that the essence of the space perfectly captured that of ‘Camino Del Sol’.

We stopped by Hotel Corazon, another art residency positioned halfway between Deià and Sóller. ‘A place to be yourself and find yourself, anything is possible and encouraged’, words used to describe the Hotel and words that resonated with us as a team.
The restaurant within the hotel is open to the public for drinks and bites, offering locally produced and made meals that capture the culture of Mallorca, made by chef Grace Berrow. We watched the sunset over the mountains from the outdoor terrace where we ate and drank, laughing and recounting moments from the trips past. We loved it so much, that we returned up the mountain for morning coffees and smoothies. We were completely inspired by the owners Kate Bellm and Edgar Lopez in how they have created a secluded oasis that is truly one of a kind in its experience. We would recommend anyone in the area to visit and immerse yourself in what they have to offer.

Our bridesmaid campaign was captured at Ca’s Patró March, a restaurant situated in the national park in Deià on the water. We used it to paint a scene of celebration and togetherness. We indulged in fresh locally sourced seafood and enjoyed the second to none atmosphere. Positioned with panoramic views of cerulean water, we labelled it a must-see and undoubtable highlight.
