Shona Joy presents ‘Le Long de la Côte’, an ode to the perennial muse of an eternal summer.
An expression of radicality and new-found femininity imbued through the spirit of the house’s ever present nod to the summertime where sunbathed-soaked silhouettes influenced by the Mediterranean shores and a collision of opposing elements — high and low, masculine and feminine, day and night — with cutouts and detailing reminiscent of those reflecting the construction of swimwear seen on icons of a pastime.
New house codes come to life in a symbolic evolution of intrinsic qualities that define the growth of Shona Joy; modern, experimental and undoubtedly playful. Taking life through floor-sweeping silhouettes, striking lines and a colour palette of sunburst hues.
Set against the iconic backdrop of the Sydney Harbour, the Shona Joy ‘Le Long de la Côte’ runway show was held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal.
Shona Joy acknowledges Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work, live and gather. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia. In particular we acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, who traditionally occupied the land on which this show was held.
